Kuching International Airport
Kuching International Airport (Initialized: KIA) (IATA: KCH, ICAO: WBGG) is an international airport serving the entire southwestern region of Sarawak, Malaysia. It is situated 11 km south of the city of Kuching. The Airport is the gateway to Sarawak, Brunei and North Borneo (Sabah as it is called today).

The Airport is also an airbase for the Royal Malaysian Air Force (RMAF) and
its newly renovated terminal complex is capable of handling 5 million passengers
annually, making it the third busiest airport in Malaysia.
KIA is the secondary hub for Malaysia Airlines and has been growing rapidly to
tackle the demand of the travellers in the East Malaysia region.
Malaysia Airlines, Malindo Air and AirAsia are the main users of this airport.
SilkAir, Hong Kong Airlines and XpressAir also provide flights to this Airport.
Facilities

All passengers travelling with any flights from outside Sarawak (including
all flights from Peninsular Malaysia, Sabah, Federal Territory of Labuan and
outside Malaysia), must pass through the immigration control at the first entry
airport.
Kuching International Airport has two sides of baggage reclaim halls, one is for
the domestic flights (within Sarawak) while the other one is for both
international flights and flights outside Sarawak.
The airport is not crowded and basic facilities are available for passengers.
Transportation
Bus: No city buses are available at the moment. The nearest bus station which
is Kuching Sentral Bus Terminal, is located 2 km away.
Taxi: Taxi counters are located inside the airport near the exit balconies. The
fare is charged based on the distance. This is a pre-paid taxi service.
Car Rentals: There are car rental companies booths at the airport offer services
at varying prices. These operators include Hornbill Tour, Hurtz and Kuching
Holiday.
