Kuala Lumpur City Air Terminal (KL CAT)

Designed as an “Airport Terminal in the City”, the Kuala Lumpur City Air Terminal (KL CAT) at KL Sentral Transportation Hub is truly an extension of the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA). The KL CAT is officially recognized by the International Air Transport Association (IATA) as a city destination with the code XKL.

The KL CAT is favoured by business travellers both local and foreign, the high-speed KLIA Ekspres train service provides the convenient link between KL Sentral and KLIA. This reliable high speed train with quick 28-minutes journey to KLIA from KL Sentral Station offers those who value time guaranteed control over their travel schedule.

City Center Flights Check-in Feature

At KL CAT, you can check-in for your flight, just like in KLIA, and enjoy free porter service. Regarded as a premium value-added service, passengers traveling with Malaysia Airlines, Cathay Pacific Airways, Royal Brunei Airlines and Emirates are able to check in at KL CAT.

The minimum check-in time is 2 hours before flight departure time (1 hours for those on Malaysia Airlines’ domestic flights without luggage). Your luggage will be tagged to your destination and automatically transferred to your flight at KLIA.

Every piece of luggage is bar-coded for easy tracking, and is integrated with the KLIA baggage handling system. The check-in service is provided for air travelers who hold valid KLIA Ekspres and KLIA Transit tickets.

KL Sentral Transportation Hub

As Malaysia’s largest transit hub, KL Sentral is Kuala Lumpur’s integrated rail transportation centre, offering interconnectivity and seamlessly linking to all urban and suburban residential, commercial and industrial areas. You will find various food and retail outlets as well as travel-related services at KL Sentral such as airline ticketing, travel boutiques, banking services, bureau de change, telecommunication and accommodations as well.

KL CAT is located within the same building with KL Sentral where it is easily accessed by road, and is supported by other public transportation systems such as the RapidKL LRT, MRT, KL Monorail, KTM commuter, KTM Intercity, feeder buses and city taxis.

Travellers upon checking-in for their flights at KL CAT then are free to go around if spare times available, have a meal or do some shopping either before they depart from KL Sentral or upon at KLIA.
