Malaysia Airlines Check-in Information at Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA)

Passengers traveling with Malaysia Airlines from KLIA can Check-in conveniently with the check-in options provided as below:

Check-in Counters, KLIA

Online Web Check-in

Online check-in for Malaysia Airlines are available. Check in online from www.malaysiaairlines.com, follow the steps to completed your check-in and choose your preferred boarding pass option as stated below and bring it with you to the airport:

• Paper Print
• Mobile boarding pass
• Apple Passbook

The Web check-in timing are as below:

• Web check-in: from 48 hours and up to 90 minutes before your flight.
• Mobile check-in: from 48 hours and up to 90 minutes before your flight.

Mobile Check-in with mobile boarding pass is only available for travel on pure Malaysia Domestic routes and Malaysia to and from ASEAN destinations.

If you have baggage to check in, just proceed to the bag drop counters:

Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA):

• At least 60 minutes before your flight for domestic flights.
• At least 60 minutes before your flight for international flights.

Peninsular Malaysia, Sabah and Sarawak Airports:

• At least 45 minutes before your flight for domestic flights.
• At least 60 minutes before your flight for international flights.

If you only have carry-on baggage, please present your boarding pass and identification document at security and proceed to the gate (please note boarding gate closes 20 minutes before the departure time).

Self Service Check-in Machine (Kiosk)

Passengers traveling with Malaysia Airlines can Check-in by use self-service kiosks at the Airports, the feature allow you to choose your preferred seat and print your luggage tags and boarding pass. You can then proceed to the baggage drop counter or straight to the boarding gate if you are travelling light.

The check-in kiosks are available at Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA), Kuching, Kota Kinabalu, Kota Bharu, Johor Bahru and Langkawi. Self check-in is mandatory for all passengers with the exception of flights to Kathmandu and Dhaka.

For easier and smoother boarding, check in your flights at self check-in kiosk to avoid the queue.

Services are available at the check-in kiosk around the departures hall.

Airport Counter Check-in

Airport Counter Check-in (Row B, D & H, KLIA)

Present your travel documents at the airport counter, check in and obtain your boarding pass.

• Closure of check-in counter: 60 minutes before departure for domestic and international flights.

• Closure of departure gate: 30 minutes before departure for domestic and international flights.

Kuala Lumpur City Air Terminal (KL CAT)

If you're using the KLIA Ekspres train service, you can check in at KL CAT located inside the KL Sentral station. You may also check in your bags – every piece of luggage is bar-coded for easy tracking, and is integrated with the KLIA baggage handling system. Available for holders of valid KLIA Ekspres and KLIA Transit tickets only. Read more about KL CAT.

Availability : Minimum 2 hours before departure for international flights, 1.5 hours for domestic flights without checked baggage.
