Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport (成都双流国际机场, CTU) is one of southwestern China’s major aviation gateways and a key hub for Chengdu and Sichuan Province. Located approximately 16 km southwest of central Chengdu, the airport has historically handled a high volume of domestic and international traffic and remains an important operational base despite the opening of Chengdu Tianfu International Airport.

Facilities

CTU features two passenger terminals with a wide range of amenities, including airline lounges, duty-free shopping, retail outlets, restaurants, cafés, ATMs, currency exchange, baggage services, and free Wi-Fi. Additional facilities include medical services, prayer rooms, business services, and special assistance for passengers with reduced mobility.

Airlines

Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport serves as a primary hub for Sichuan Airlines and a major base for Air China. It is also served by numerous Chinese carriers such as China Eastern Airlines, China Southern Airlines, Hainan Airlines, Shenzhen Airlines, Xiamen Airlines, and Spring Airlines, as well as selected international airlines operating regional and long-haul routes.

Transportation

The airport is well connected to the city via Chengdu Metro Line 10, which links the terminals directly to the urban rail network. Airport shuttle buses provide services to major districts and transport hubs, while licensed taxis and ride-hailing services are readily available. Expressways offer convenient road access to downtown Chengdu and surrounding areas.
