Jalan Ampang
Jalan Ampang is located just outside the Golden Triangle area but remains
an important commercial and entertainment section of Kuala Lumpur. Parts of
Jalan Ampang are located in adjoining Selangor State. Jalan Ampang is often
confused with Ampang, a township in Selangor which connects
by Jalan Ampang to downtown Kuala Lumpur.
There are also many residential areas along Jalan Ampang and some well known
shopping malls such as Ampang Parks, Great Eastern Mall, Ampang Point and
City Square. Of special note is the large Korean population that lives in
Jalan Ampang (near to Ampang Point), which is the reason why there are many
Korean restaurants.
Most of Kuala Lumpur's embassies, including the British, French, American
and Thai embassies are found here as well. The most famous landmark is of
course, the Petronas Twin Towers, with a trendy and elite shopping mall
located between the two buildings called Suria KLCC. Some popular night
clubs and restaurants are located along Jalan Ampang.
Jalan Ampang is one of the most popular commercial and entertainment area of
the city. With its numerous shopping malls, and cafes it has emerged as one
of the major attractions and shopping destinations of the city. It is the
perfect place to hang around with friends and relatives. One can find a
large number of shops over here selling car, gift items, fashion
accessories, home decor, fashionable clothes, perfume and other articles.
Jalan Ampang can be reach easily by KLIA
Taxi for the fare of RM74.30 (budget taxi) and RM102.10 / RM199.80 for
premier and family limo. The KLIA Taxi
fare may be higher for some location in Jalan Ampang due to long stretch of
the Jalan Ampang. (e.g. Great Eastern Mall and Somerset Hotel cost RM84.30
for budget taxi)
