Batik Air Malaysia, OD series flights at Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA)
Batik Air Malaysia (formerly known as Malindo Air) is a low-cost airline airline based in Malaysia, headquartered in Petaling Jaya. It is a joint venture between National Aerospace and Defence Industries (NADI) (51%) of Malaysia and Lion Air of Indonesia (49%). The name Malindo is derived from the names of respective countries , Malaysia and Indonesia.
Batik Air Malaysia initially planned to start operation on 1 May 2013 from the
low-cost carrier terminal at Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) -
klia2 terminal.
However, Batik Air Malaysia brought forward the launch date to mid-March 2013 with domestic destinations.
On 28 April 2022, Batik Air Malaysia was rebranded as Batik Air Malaysia in line
with the Lion Group's goal to establish a common identity for the full
service airlines within the group.
