Pakistan International Airlines Baggage Allowance
KLIA.Info » Airlines at KLIA » Pakistan International Airlines » Baggage AllowancePassengers travelling with Pakistan International Airlines are permitted to carry the following:
Carry-on Baggage
Passengers are generally allowed one piece of carry‑on baggage onboard.
• Economy Class: Up to 7 kg maximum and dimensions not exceeding 115 cm total
(55 × 35 × 25 cm). Carry‑on must fit in the overhead bin or under the seat in
front of you.
• Business / Executive Class: Up to 12 kg total (often structured as one bag up
to ~7 kg plus a small personal item).
• Personal item allowed: A small handbag, laptop bag, or equivalent personal
item that fits under the seat in front of you is typically allowed in addition
to the main carry‑on.
Carry-on must conform to airline size and safety rules; items that don’t fit or
exceed limits may be checked in and charged accordingly on the day of travel.
Checked Baggage Allowance
Checked baggage limits vary by route and class of travel and are confirmed at
booking or shown on your ticket/itinerary.
Typical allowances published include:
• Domestic flights: Commonly around 20 kg for Economy Class and about 30 kg for
Business (exact weight may vary).
• International flights: Many long‑haul international flights often include two
pieces of checked baggage. For example:
• Economy: Two pieces up to 23–28 kg each (varies by route)
• Business / Executive: Usually higher combined allowance (e.g., two pieces of
~32 kg each)
• Size limit: Checked bags typically must not exceed 158 cm (62 inches) in total
dimensions (length + width + height).
Actual free checked baggage amounts depend on specific route, fare class, and
ticket type — especially on flights to North America or Europe where specific
piece‑based allowances may apply.
Extra Baggage
To avoid extra charges for excess baggage, please make sure to fit your allowed
weight into your allowed number of pieces. Any excess weight or additional
pieces beyond the free allowance will be subject to additional fees, provided
there is space in the aircraft hold for your excess baggage.
Extra Baggage Rules
• Purchase in advance: You can usually buy extra baggage allowance when booking
your ticket or up to 4 hours before departure through PIA booking offices, the
website, or travel agents — often at a discounted rate compared with paying at
the airport.
• Fees vary by route: Charges are route dependent. For example, some published
figures show excess baggage per kilogram on international flights to certain
destinations like Malaysia around USD 5/kg outbound and USD 11/kg inbound — but
actual fees should be confirmed with PIA for your specific itinerary.
• At the airport: If you buy excess baggage at the airport within a few hours of
departure, standard excess baggage rates will apply.
