Lufthansa Baggage Allowance

As of early 2026, Lufthansa does not operate direct flights from Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA). Passengers traveling on Lufthansa flights from KUL fly via partner airlines or codeshare services. Baggage rules are determined by the operating carrier, so it’s important to check the specific airline handling your flight for accurate baggage allowances.

Carry-on Baggage

For most partner-operated flights, passengers are allowed 1 cabin bag and 1 personal item, but size and weight limits depend on the operating airline.

Checked Baggage Allowance

Checked baggage allowance varies by the operating airline and ticket class. For economy tickets, it usually ranges from 20–30 kg, while premium economy or business class may allow 2 pieces or up to 32 kg per bag.

Always check the operating carrier’s baggage policy at the time of booking or on your electronic ticket.

Use the Lufthansa booking reference to verify your flight details, or consult the airline responsible for your segment.

Extra Baggage

Excess baggage fees apply if you go over your purchased allowance. Pre-purchasing extra allowance online is usually cheaper than paying at the airport.

For more details on the baggage policy, please contact the Lufthansa Kuala Lumpur GSA Office at Tel: +603 2052 3428 or get in touch with your nearest ticketing agent.
