Delta Air Lines Baggage Allowance

Passengers travelling with Delta Air Lines are permitted to carry the following:

Baggage Allowance

Carry-on Baggage

• 1 personal item (e.g., purse, briefcase, laptop bag) - Free

• 1 carry-on bag - Free

Carry-on must meet the following size and weight restrictions:

• Maximum size: 45 linear inches (22 x 14 x 9 in) / 115 cm (56 x 36 x 23 cm) (including handles and wheels)

• Must fit in the overhead bin or under the seat in front of you.

• Personal items must be small enough to fit under the seat.

The following items do not count toward your carry-on allowance:

• Jackets, umbrellas, diaper bags, duty-free purchases.

• Assistive devices (wheelchairs, walkers, crutches, strollers, child restraint seats, etc.).

Checked Baggage / Hold Luggage

• Standard allowance: 2 bags, up to 10 bags maximum (4 bags on Delta Connection flights).

• Maximum dimensions: 62 inches / 157 cm (L+W+H).

• Maximum weight: 50 lbs / 23 kg per bag.

Excess Baggage Fees

• Oversized bags (63 to 115 linear inches / 160 to 292 cm): $200 USD (on U.S. domestic flights).

• Bags exceeding 115 inches (292 cm): Not accepted.

• Fees vary for travel to/from Africa, the Caribbean, Central America, Japan, Mexico, and South America.

Sports Equipment

• Items like skis, golf bags, fishing gear, hockey, and lacrosse equipment are accepted within Delta's size and weight limits.

• May count as one checked bag and incur applicable fees.

Lost or Delayed Baggage

• Report missing baggage to a Delta employee at the airport.
