Carry-on Baggage
Economy Class
• 1 piece of hand baggage with maximum weight: 7 kg.
• Rodrigues flights: 1 piece up to 5 kg.
Business Class
• 2 pieces of hand baggage, each bag can weigh up to 7 kg.
Size limits
• Maximum dimensions (L + W + H): 115 cm total.
Personal items allowed (in addition to hand baggage):
• Overcoat, wrap or blanket
• Umbrella or walking stick
• Laptop, camera, binoculars
• Infant food for in‑flight consumption
• Duty‑free purchases (Must still fit in cabin storage.)
Checked Baggage Allowance
The free checked baggage depends on your route and class. All allowances
below are for tickets issued from 1 June 2025 onward.
Economy Class
Mauritius / Rodrigues / Reunion / Madagascar / South Africa / Australia / India
/ France / Switzerland / United Kingdom
— Generally 1 piece, up to 23 kg.
Exceptions:
• Kuala Lumpur & some India routes — 2 pieces × 23 kg each.
Business Class
On most international routes you are allowed 2 pieces, each weighing up to
32 kg.
Infants
Allowed 1 piece up to 23 kg (no carry‑on).
NOTE: Checked baggage pieces must not exceed 32 kg per bag (for safety).
Extra Baggage
If your baggage exceeds your free allowance (either by extra pieces or
weight), you can purchase additional baggage — but charges apply.
Extra Pieces
• You can buy extra checked pieces (up to the normal weight limits for your
class):
• First additional bag and second/more additional bags each have specific rates.
• Rates vary by route (e.g., Europe, Australia, Johannesburg, KL) and are
typically shown in EUR.
Overweight Baggage
• Economy or business bags that exceed the standard per‑piece weight (23 kg or
32 kg) are charged extra per kilogram.
• Rates also vary by region.
Oversized Baggage
• Baggage with dimensions between 158 cm and 300 cm may be accepted for an
additional fee (e.g., oversized charge around EUR 325), if pre‑arranged.
Sports and Special Equipment
• Items like golf bags or surfboards can often be included in free baggage if
within size/weight limits — otherwise charges apply or they must be
pre‑arranged.
